BackOps Vision and Product Direction
What BackOps covers for live event operations today, and the parts of the production lifecycle it is still growing into.
BackOps is built with one goal: to be the complete end-to-end platform for live event operations, from pre-show prep to post-show wrap, whether you run a weekend festival, a multi-city tour or a one-day shoot.
What BackOps covers today
The core of the operation already runs in one connected place:
- Event setup: event types, intake forms and templates that build a new event's structure in one step.
- People: collaborators and crew on every event, backed by reusable organization databases.
- Planning: a shared schedule with run of show, and project management with tasks, phases and reviews.
- Advancing: structured forms sent to collaborators, with tracked answers and approvals.
- Resourcing: inventory, procurement, orders and coverage of resource needs across events.
- Documents and communications: event files with review and sharing, Dynamic Docs, connected event email and notifications.
Each of these has its own section in the docs.
Where BackOps is headed
The vision reaches further into the live production lifecycle. The areas below are direction, not features you can use today:
- On-site labor tracking and time management: hours, timecards and on-site roles for crew.
- Live build and execution monitoring: a live view of build progress and issue resolution as a site comes together.
- Travel, logistics and transportation: pickups, hotels, equipment logistics and team movements.
- Asset tracking across locations: checking gear out and back in, with accountability across departments.
BackOps is more than a tool. It is the operational backbone for your live productions.
