Timeframes for Load-In, Show Days, and Other Event Phases
How timeframes mark the phases of a long event as colored bands on the schedule, and how to add, edit, and delete one and use it to jump to its dates.
A timeframe is a labeled background band on an event schedule that marks a period of the event, such as Load-In or Show Days. It is not an activity. Activities are things that happen; timeframes are the context around them. They divide the calendar into phases and give you a fast way to jump to the part of the event you care about.
Why Timeframes Exist
Events often span weeks or months, but day-to-day work happens inside a few meaningful periods: a site walk, then load-in, then show days, then load-out, with long gaps between. Scrolling the calendar to find each of those periods every time is slow.
Timeframes fix this in two ways. Each one appears in the sidebar, where selecting it jumps the calendar to its dates. And each one colors the calendar background for its dates, so you can tell at a glance which phase a day belongs to.
Find and Use Timeframes
Timeframes are listed under Time Frames in the schedule sidebar, below the mini calendar. Select one to jump the calendar to its start.
Add a Timeframe
Open the timeframe dialog
Name the period and set its dates
Choose who sees it
Turn on Global activity so it appears for everyone, or attach the people, collaborators, and areas who need it. The same visibility rules as activities apply.
Timeframes do not repeat and have no exact location.
Make most timeframes global so everyone working on the event shares the same navigation markers. A timeframe that is not global appears only on the calendars it is attached to.
Edit or Delete a Timeframe
Because timeframes sit behind activities, clicking one on the calendar does nothing. To change one, find it under Time Frames in the sidebar, open its menu, and choose Edit or Delete.
