File activity history in the Drive
What the Activity tab on a BackOps file shows today, and where to find a file's version, review and comment history in the meantime.
Each uploaded file and deliverable has an Activity tab on its page, meant to become a timeline of everything that happened to the file. That feed is not built yet: today the tab shows No activity for every file, and folder activity is not available either.
The history you usually need is still on the file:
- Revisions: Versions lists every version of the file, each with its formats.
- Sign-off: the Reviews tab shows each reviewer's response on the selected version.
- Discussion: comments stay on the version they were written on.
Changes to sharing are not recorded anywhere a user can see. On event files, creating a file, adding a version, commenting, requesting a review and reviewing also raise BackOps notifications.
