Event Resources, Types and Rate Cards

Use resource types, attributes and rate cards inside an event, pull them and inventory from your organization, and request composites in procurement.

Inside an event, resources work the same way they do in your organization: types, attributes and rate cards. This page covers what is specific to the event level. For the concepts, see Resources Overview.

Pulling Types and Attributes from the Organization

An event's resource library lives in the event's settings, under Resources. Use Add type, then Add from org library, to pull a type from your organization. Pulling a type brings what it depends on with it: its attributes, variants, modifiers, rate cards, rule sets, states and block types, and for a composite, its component types. On the Attributes tab you can add single attributes from the organization library instead.

A pulled type stays linked to the organization's version. Use Refresh from org in the type's editor, or Pull from org on its row, to update it when the organization changes it. BackOps shows what the refresh will change before it runs.

Events can also hold types and attributes of their own that do not exist at the organization level.

Who Can Change Event Resources

Creating and editing the event's resource types, attributes, categories, block types, states and rule sets requires the EventSettings permission. Pulling from the organization also needs access to the organization's resource library.

Requesting Resources in Procurement

When someone requests a resource, only the attributes active on Procurement are asked for. Adding a composite to a procurement adds one need for each component. The composite is a grouping, so it has no schedule of its own. Use Set schedule on the composite to apply one schedule to all of its components, then adjust any single component if it differs.

A need can be priced with any rate card its resource type owns, chosen on the need.

Organization Inventory on an Event

When you assign a person or unit to a need, for example from the event's roster, the picker lists On this event first and From the org pool second. Choosing someone from the org pool copies that resource onto the event, with its type if the event does not have it yet. From then on it is listed under On this event.
